

Volunteer Opportunities
Disaster Services:
- On-Call Team: a group of dedicated disaster workers who make sure
our Red Cross is ready to respond to emergencies when the office is closed.
On-call workers take weekly shifts transmitting emergency messages to
military personnel as well as assisting families who are affected by fires
and other small disasters. Successful completion of a training class is
required.
- Disaster Action Team - Get trained to respond to larger disasters
in our community. Volunteers are needed to assist in emergency shelters,
hand out clean-up kits and assess disaster damage.
Blood Services
With a short orientation...
- Greeters: greet and direct donors
- Canteen-serve refreshments
- Escort-bring donors to canteen
With some free training...
- One-Stop Shop-register donors on computer; check iron count by
pricking donor finger; ask health history questions, take blood pressure.
- Blood Bag Worker- label bags for donations.
Health and Safety Services
- Volunteer instructors are needed to teach CPR and First Aid. Requires
training.
