AMERICAN RED CROSS OF MONROE COUNTY
GETS A BUILDING MAKEOVER
The Monroe County Chapter (Stroudsburg, PA) knew the
community was generous in funding its service programs and in donating
blood, but really learned how generous our community is when more than
60 businesses and many volunteers donated services and in-kind items towards
a renovation.
The Monroe County Chapter Chairman, Connie Roberts,
put out the word that the Chapter House needed a makeover. It started
out asking for new gutters and grew to an unplanned $112,000 makeover
in 5 months. The 50 year old building received new lighting, drop
ceilings, furniture, signage, phone system, computers and software, bathroom
fixtures, interior/exterior painting, conference/class room, volunteer
room, refurbished kitchen, carpeting through-out, over $10,000 worth
of basement shelving, landscaping and of course the gutters that started
the whole project. Below is a list of those who supported
